Astralis ease past FaZe; to Pro League final

Astralis have advanced to the grand final at the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals after defeating FaZe 2-0 (16-3 on Mirage and 16-6 on Inferno).

The second semi-final at the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals in Dallas, Texas, USA featured Astralis and FaZe who kicked off their best-of-three game on Mirage. The Danes, who started on the CT-side, picked up the pistol round victory and won the following two anti-eco rounds (3-0).

FaZe responded in the first gun round with Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač and Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström's opening kills which gave them their first round. Even though FaZe got another round, Astralis were able to secure six rounds in a row to lead 9-2.

Astralis are through to the grand final

Ladislav "⁠GuardiaN⁠" Kovács's triple kill in the twelfth round made it 9-3 but Astralis hit back right away by winning the last three rounds of the half which they finished 12-3 ahead. Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz & company continued their dominant performance on the T-side and won the first four rounds of the second half to win the map 16-3.

The second map of the series was Inferno where Astralis started on the T-side and won the pistol round with Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander's triple kill. After securing two anti-eco rounds, Astralis won the first weapon round to make it 4-0.

FaZe are out of the tournament

Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth & gla1ve won a 2vs4 in the sixth round to extend Astralis' streak to six rounds. Three rounds later, FaZe picked up their first round victory but they were unable to secure consecutive rounds as Astralis closed out the half with a 13-2 scoreline.

The Danish squad won the second half pistol round with a 3vs4 retake, making it 14-2. Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen & co. finished it off in the twenty-second round and won the map 16-6. With a 2-0 series victory, the Danes have advanced to the grand final.
